Every month in the next sixteen years gets one of four stages that way: in bloom at a peak, opening inside a window, budding in the six months before one, and not yet for the quiet stretches. Do I need my birth time?

For exact months, yes. The Moon moves about half a degree an hour, so without a time it can land in one of two nakshatras, and that can move whole years in the garden. Without it the reading uses noon and tells you so with a button that adds the time.
